Stepping on powerful toes cost me APC chairmanship seat, says Oshiomhole

Adams Oshiomhole, the previous All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman on Monday, August 3, disclosed that he was eliminated from office because he treaded on powerful toes.

The previous chairman of the reigning party unveiled this in the course of an appearance on ARISE NEWS Morning Show.

While responding to questions on the breakfast programme, Oshiomhole stated that he has no doubts about his dealings as APC national chairman and the verdict of the president to dismiss the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

He also stated to fight the same powers that fired him as the presiding party’s chair if given a second chance.

He said: “Of course, I am aware that when you step on powerful toes, they will fight back, but I had no intention that I was going to be a life chairman. No.

“I decided I wasn’t contesting it because of my understanding of loyalty, particularly when you hold the office of trust, whatever has happened belongs to the past and I can’t do things differently.

But let me assure you that I do not regret anything that we have done because you cannot change Nigeria without offending some powers.”

“I have no regrets whatsoever on the decision to sack the NWC, which of course put an end to my chairmanship. No regrets. The average Nigerian wants strong leadership; they want things to be done differently.”

In accordance to him, received an invitation by President Muhammadu Buhari who he said backed him to run the party, grab it from the cabal, and restore APC to party members.
