Nigeria records 313 new cases of COVID-19, total now 7,839

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), confirmed this in a tweet on Sunday, May 24.
The new cases carry the total number of infections within the nation to 7,839.
Number of fatalities elevated to 226, whereas recoveries elevated to 2,263.

On the 24th of May 2020, 313 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

The 313 new cases are reported from 17 states. 148 new cases recorded in Lagos, 36 in FCT, 27 in Rivers, 19 in Edo, 13 in Kano, 12 in Ogun, 11 in Ebonyi.

8 new cases recorded each in Nasarawa and Delta. 7 cases in Oyo, 6 in Plateau, 5 in Kaduna, 4 in Kwara, 3 each in Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa, 2 in Niger, and 1 case in Anambra.

No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

Till date, 7839 cases confirmed, 2263 cases discharged and 226 deaths recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
