Nasarawa CAN chairman’s abductors demand N20million

The gunmen who kidnapped the Chairman of the Nasarawa State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bishop Joseph Masin, have contacted his household and are reportedly demanding a N20 million ransom.

Naijablaze reported yesterday that Peace Masin, the clergyman’s son stated seven armed males suspected to be Fulani herdsmen stormed their house at about 11pm on Tuesday, May 27 and kidnapped his father thereafter.

Serving an update on the abduction, the state CAN Vice Chairman Pastor Tayo Samuel informed New Telegraph that the abductors had contacted one of the victim’s sons and demanded N20 million.

He stated; “Early this morning (yesterday), the abductors contacted one of his sons via his phone and demanded 20 million. The negotiation is ongoing.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe has nevertheless disclosed that the police are already on the trail of the abductors.
