Gov Sule confirmed NCDC driver tests positive for COVID-19 in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State number of active cases to 12 as at May 5.
Governor of Nasarawa says the affected individual is a driver with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
He advised the people of the state to obey all government’s directives in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa says the state has recorded an extra confirmed case of coronavirus, bringing the number of active cases to 12.

Sule made the disclosure during an expanded state security meeting on Tuesday in Lafia. The governor mentioned the affected individual is a driver with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Who transports test samples for the agency in Abuja infected in the process.

He mentioned the driver who resides in Ado in Karu Local Government Area of the state, declared positive on Tuesday morning.

The governor explained that all the patients are presently receiving treatment at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia and the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Keffi.

He additionally mentioned that the state had taken supply of 6,000 Personal Protective types of gear (PPE), 50,000 imported face masks. In addition to another 50,000 domestically produced face masks by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

He inspired the people of the state adhere to all government’s directives on COVID-19. So as to stem the spread of the virus.
