Airstrikes by Nigerian Military destroys Boko Haram gun trucks in Southern Borno

–The insurgents attacked by NAF at Wamdeo-Chul
–Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole carried out the operation
–Several of the terrorists neutralized in the attack

The Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole bombard the insurgents along the Wamdeo-Chul resulting to no fewer than two-gun trucks belonging to the Boko Haram terrorists destroyed in the Southern part of Borno State.

Reports indicates that scores of the terrorists killed in the attack.

Coordinator Defence Media Operations Major General John Enenche, in a statement, disclosed that, “the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed no fewer than two Boko Haram Terrorists’ (BHTs’) gun trucks and eliminated some of their fighters along the Wamdeo-Chul axis in the Southern part of Borno State.”

According to the statement, “this was achieved on January 5, 2021, as the Air Task Force scrambled Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter gunships to provide close air support as troops repelled the terrorists, who attempted to breach the 2 locations.”

It added that, “upon sighting the NAF helicopter gunships, the terrorists, mounted on gun trucks and motorcycles, attempted to beat a hasty retreat whilst firing at the attack aircraft.

However, the helicopters hit the insugents with barrage of rocket and cannon fire, resulted in the immobilization of 2 of the gun trucks, one seen engulfed in flames.

Several of the terrorists neutralized in the attack, while a few others mopped-up as the helicopters continued to strafe the fleeing insurgents.
