Billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist Bill Gates revealed the rich world capable to put an end to coronavirus by the end of 2021 while the world at large will be able to end it by 2022.
CNet reports that the Microsoft co-founder affirmed this in a discussion with Wired Magazine, make public on Friday, August 7.
The invention pipeline on scaling up diagnostics, on new therapeutics, on vaccines is in fact pretty impressive.
That makes him feel like, for the rich world, we should basically be able to end this thing by the end of 2021, and for the world at large by the end of 2022
He noticed that a number of of the vaccines that are presently being developed are likely to only help in wealthier countries.
Speaking about antibodies, Gates said: “Antibodies are two to three months away. We’ve had about a factor-of-two improvement in hospital outcomes already, and that’s with just remdesivir and dexamethasone. These other things will be additive to that.”
At this point, there’s no revealing when the coronavirus pandemic will actually end. A vaccine is perhaps the only way out.
